The Annual Shiloh Open is one of the most popular USTA sanctioned community tournaments in the Washington metropolitan area. The tournament this year is held the first weekend in June at Banneker Recreation Center Tennis courts. The tournament offers competition for NTRP levels and open aged categories. ADULT INSTRUCTION & PLAY
On Saturday mornings in the spring and summer, Tennis At Shiloh sponsors the largest volunteer tennis instruction program of its kind in the Washington Metropolitan Area at the Banneker Tennis Courts, Georgia Avenue at Euclid Street in Northwest DC. If the skies threaten wet weather early on Saturday morning call 202 526-1447 to see if play is postponed.
CARDIO TENNIS
The CardioTennis curriculum is a fast, fun, action-packed aerobics program taught by a teaching professional. Advanced Beginners & Intermediates sign up for a 60 minute Saturday morning class to realize personal health benefits and a full tennis workout. YOUTH PROGRAMS
Jr Team Tennis for competitive teens & preteens is a program which offers instruction, drills, and coaching to youth who plan to compete on high school and college teams. Tennis At Shiloh youth play in leagues against other Washington area teams.
Quickstart Tennis for 7 to 10 year olds is a format which emphasizes fun, competition, and instant tennis play. Young people experience court success on the first days of instruction using smaller courts, shorter nets, sized rackets, colorful foam balls, and a 1/5 teacher/student ratio. |
